Travelling Fellowship

Faculty members from our Unit have first valued the concept of travelling fellowship. Below are listed the names and courses of the physicians who successfully competed and accepted scholarships to date:

 

Konstantinos Malizos, Professor and Chairman:

Scholarship “A. Kavvadias” from the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (HAOST) as International Travelling Fellow of the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA), during which he gave lectures at 16 Universities in the USA  (a 8-week course, summer 1997).

Theofilos Karachalios, Professor:

Scholarship “A. Kavvadias” from the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (HAOST) as International Travelling Fellow of the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA), during which he gave lectures at 12 Universities in the USA  (a 8-week course, 1995).

Michael Hantes, Assistant Professor:

Scholarship from the European Society of Arthroscopy which included a travelling fellowship programme with practical experience in hospitals in the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea (a 5-week course, 2006).

Zoe Dailiana, Associate Professor:

Scholarship from the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (HAOST) which included a travelling fellowship programme with practical experience in the USA (a 6-week course, 2008).

Vasileios Kontogeorgakos, Consultant:

International Hand Travelling Fellowship Scholarship awarded by the American Association for Surgery of the Hand (A.A.S.H.)  

Lazaros Poultsides, Orthopaedic surgeon:

Scholarship from the European Bone & Joint Infection Society (EBJIS), which included a Travelling Fellowship programme with practical experience in the area of Bone & Joint Infections (a 2-week course, 2009)

Efthymios Papasoulis, Orthopaedic surgeon:

Scholarship from the European Bone & Joint Infection Society (EBJIS), which included a Travelling Fellowship programme with practical experience in the area of Bone & Joint Infections (a 2-week course, 2011)

Apostolos Lagaras, Orthopaedic surgeon:

Scholarship from the European Bone & Joint Infection Society (EBJIS), which included a Travelling Fellowship programme with practical experience in the area of Bone & Joint Infections (a 2-week course, 2012)

Marianthi Papanagiotou, Resident in Orthopaedics:

Scholarship from the European Bone & Joint Infection Society (EBJIS), which included a Travelling Fellowship programme with practical experience in the area of Bone & Joint Infections (a 2-week course, 2012)
