At the Unit of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and Microsurgery training is offered to the residents in the last year of their residency in Orthopaedics or Plastic Surgery, while a fellowship is offered to Orthopaedic or Plastic surgeons who have selected to specialize in this field. Fellows are required to actively participate in the clinical activities, outpatient clinics, operating room sessions (3-4 days/week). They are also trained in the use of local and regional anesthesia techniques and in the application of ultrasound for the diagnosis of musculoskeletal upper extremity problems. They are also required to complete a research protocol, a review study, or a clinical study.
