Do your Fellowship at ORTHO

The Orthopaedic Surgery Department of the University of Thessalia offers a series of such programmes for applicants from Greece or abroad. Fellows’ education has been designed to be mostly clinical and hands-on, promoting in that way learning by “seeing and doing”. The teaching environment is supportive, and the trainees work side-by-side with faculty and senior residents, who are willing to help them develop their skills. The fellows may optionally have a stipend, complemented by other benefits such as accreditation, instruction, work experience, food and/or accommodation. 

Fellows have to attend Orthopaedic Grand Rounds and all the departmental educational sessions. They are involved in a day-to-day ward rounds, clinics, operating rooms in patient-related experiences and they may represent the Department at national meetings. They are expected to be involved in at least one publication while in the fellowship.

The doctors who were accepted and completed a fellowship course at our Department are the following: V. Zachos, N. Rigopoulos, L. Poultsides, L. Papatheodorou, D. Paridis, M. Papanagiotou, K. Veloni and Ippolyti Papakostidou (from the Military Nursing School), while Sofia Bougioukli is currently attending the programme.
